Springs Road Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Springs Road Cabernet Sauvignon is a structured, cool-grown Cabernet from Kangaroo Island in South Australia.

Off the coast south-west of Adelaide, the island gets cool ocean winds and a long, even growing season. Those moderate conditions suit Cabernet, bringing blackcurrant fruit, fine tannins and a leafy freshness. The producer is small and works with island-grown fruit, and this red is matured in oak for structure and depth.

Firm, savoury and full of blackcurrant, it opens up nicely with a decant. Serve at 16–18°C with roast lamb, rib-eye or hard cheeses, or cellar it for the medium term.
