Description

Springs Road Shiraz is a cool-grown South Australian Shiraz from Kangaroo Island, peppery and fresh.

Island Shiraz leans towards dark cherry and plum, with pepper and spice, and it's finer than the warm mainland styles. The reason is the sea: cool winds and a long, even season south-west of Adelaide keep acidity fresh. This small producer works with island-grown fruit and matures the wine in oak for texture and structure.

Generous but fresh, with supple tannins and a peppery lift. Try it with barbecued meats, lamb shoulder or a hearty pasta at 16–18°C, or put it away for a few years.
