Springs Road Shiraz 2022

Springs Road Shiraz is a peppery, dark-fruited red from Kangaroo Island, off the South Australian coast.

Cool ocean winds sweep across the vineyards here, and the long, even growing season gives wines with natural acidity and clear varietal definition. The winery is small and sticks with island fruit, going for sea-influenced character over sheer power. Oak maturation builds texture and structure around the dark cherry and plum.

Spice and pepper sit over plum and cherry, with supple tannins. Good with lamb shoulder, barbecued meats or a hearty pasta, served at 16–18°C. It will also cellar for a few years.
