Stanton & Killeen Reserve Durif 2019

Stanton & Killeen Reserve Durif is a dense, tannic Rutherglen red made from the family's best Durif.

The grape began as a French crossing of Syrah and Peloursin, but it found its Australian home in Rutherglen, where it makes inky, long-lived reds. The family, in the district since the nineteenth century, selects its top parcels for this bottling and matures the wine in oak to frame the fruit and tannin.

Inky and powerful, with plenty of cellar life ahead. Give it an hour in a decanter, then pour at 17–18°C alongside chargrilled steak, braised beef cheeks or aged hard cheese.
