Stanton & Killeen Shiraz Durif 2023

Stanton & Killeen Shiraz Durif is a generous, good-value Rutherglen red that puts two local favourites together.

North-east Victoria's hot summer days and cool nights make for deeply coloured, generous reds. The family, whose history here goes back to the nineteenth century, grows both grapes: Shiraz fills out the mid-palate and Durif brings tannin and colour. It's made for drinking young, not for long cellaring.

Ripe and plush with a firm edge, easy to enjoy now. Pour it at 16–18°C with lamb chops, a beef ragù, pizza or barbecued sausages.
