Description

Stanton & Killeen Terra Mae is a savoury, medium-bodied Rutherglen red built around Tempranillo.

The name is Portuguese for 'mother earth', a nod to the Iberian grapes the family first planted for vintage fortifieds. According to the supplier it's based on Tempranillo. Warm Rutherglen sun ripens the fruit, and careful oak keeps the wine about texture and drinkability.

Supple and savoury, made for drinking with dinner. Serve at 15–17°C with grilled chorizo, lamb kofta, mushroom risotto or a spread of tapas.
