Description

Stanton & Killeen Vintage Fortified is a young Rutherglen fortified red in the vintage port mould, sweet and firmly built.

The family has long been a champion of this style in Australia, taking the Douro's vintage ports as a guide. Only one year's fruit goes in: Touriga Nacional and other Portuguese grapes, plus Durif and Shiraz. Fortification comes early, older oak only briefly, and the wine is designed to age in bottle.

Dark and firm in its youth, with years of development ahead. Pour 60 ml at 16–18°C with dark chocolate, Stilton or aged cheddar; older bottles will need a decant.
