Stanton & Killeen White Fortified 500ml NV

Stanton & Killeen White Fortified is a white-grape fortified from Rutherglen, made in the spirit of Portugal's white ports and bottled in a 500ml size.

The family has been making wine in the district since the nineteenth century, in a region counted among Australia's great fortified areas. They're better known for Muscat, Topaque and their red vintage wines, but this draws on the same local habit of fortifying with grape spirit, applied to white grapes. The goal is freshness, not dessert-level richness, so it works as an aperitif, and the smaller bottle means you finish it while it's fresh.

Golden and nutty, with gentle fruit. Chill it to 6–8°C and pour 60ml as an aperitif, or make it long over ice with tonic and orange. Good with salted almonds, green olives and hard cheeses.
