Stonegarden Shiraz 2019

Stonegarden Shiraz is a full-bodied Barossa Shiraz built for the table and the cellar.

Shiraz has grown continuously in the Barossa since the mid-1800s, and some of the world's oldest producing vines still crop there. The higher, rockier eastern ranges around Eden Valley and Springton are cooler, and fruit from those sites adds perfume and a firmer line of acidity to the region's richness. This small, premium label comes from that part of South Australia. Shiraz at this level typically spends an extended period in oak before bottling, and the 2019 now has some age on it.

Dense and generous, with fine, ripe tannins and a long finish. Give it an hour in a decanter and serve at 16–18°C with slow-roasted lamb, braised beef cheeks or hard aged cheese.
