Stonestreet Rockfall Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Stonestreet Rockfall is a single-block Cabernet from a steep, stony site on the Alexander Mountain Estate.

The block takes its name from the loose rock that covers it, the result of a landslip on the mountainside, which drains hard and forces roots deep. Blocks like this yield tiny crops of small berries with thick skins. The wine is fermented separately and matured in French oak, a good portion new, and released only after extended ageing.

Decant well ahead and serve at 17 degrees with aged beef, venison or hard cheese. It rewards twenty years.
