Description
Studio by Miraval Rosé is a dry Provençal-style rosé from the team behind Château Miraval, bottled under the wider Méditerranée designation.
The name refers to the recording studio built into the cellars at Miraval in the 1970s, where a number of well-known albums were made. The wine is produced in partnership with the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel, and draws on fruit from a broader area than the Côtes de Provence appellation permits, which is why it carries the IGP Méditerranée classification rather than an AOP. The blend leans on Cinsault and Grenache, with Rolle, the local name for Vermentino, and a little Tibouren, an old Provençal variety long associated with the coast around Saint-Tropez. Picking is early and pressing gentle, the standard route to a pale, dry style.
An aperitif rosé above all, though it handles grilled vegetables, seafood and summer salads happily. Serve well chilled.
