Description
Suertes del Marqués Tenerife Valle de la Orotava Vidonia V.P. is a two-barrel bottling of century-old ungrafted Listán Blanco from the estate's own vineyards.
V.P. stands for viñedos propios, estate vineyards, and this cuvée is separated from the regular Vidonia on two counts: the fruit is grown entirely by the estate, and it is fermented in new 500-litre Stockinger barrels rather than older wood, which gives a more polished frame. The grapes come exclusively from hundred-year-old vines in Las Suertes, the same paraje behind the El Ciruelo red, on clay and sandy volcanic soils in the Valle de la Orotava on the northern flank of Tenerife. These vines are on their own roots, as phylloxera never reached the island, and are trained in the braided cordón trenzado of the region. The wine is aged for eleven months in the same barrels. Production is a fraction of the village bottling.
Give it time in the glass and a few years in bottle; serve at 11-12°C with turbot, lobster, roast veal or aged hard cheese.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
