Description
Swinging Bridge #009 Gamay is a rare Australian bottling of the Beaujolais grape, grown at altitude in Orange.
Gamay needs cool conditions to give the bright, low-tannin red it produces on Beaujolais granite, and Orange, with vineyards up to 900 metres on the volcanic slopes of Mount Canobolas, is one of the few Australian regions that can offer them. The wine is part of Tom Ward's Hashtag Series, where the estate works with varieties and methods outside its Chardonnay and Pinot Noir core. Whole bunches go into the ferment.
Serve cool at 14 degrees with charcuterie, roast chicken or a picnic lunch. Drink within four years.
