Description
Swinging Bridge Hill Park Pinot Noir is the estate's flagship red, from the 900-metre home vineyard above Orange.
The Hill Park vineyard, planted in 1998, faces south and sits high on the ancient volcanic soils around Mount Canobolas, which stretches the season out and gives Pinot Noir fine tannin and natural acidity. Tom Ward, whose family have farmed in the district since 1867, makes the wines. Fermentation uses whole bunches, with maturation in French oak.
Serve at 15 degrees with duck, venison or a mushroom tart. It develops over ten years.
