Tar & Roses Chardonnay 2023

Tar & Roses Chardonnay is a Victorian white from a winery built around Mediterranean and Italian varieties.

Tar & Roses was founded by the late Don Lewis, who spent decades as winemaker at Mitchelton, and Narelle King, and takes its name from the classic description of aged Nebbiolo. The winery works mostly in central Victoria, where the continental climate suits Italian varieties, though the Chardonnay draws on cooler coastal fruit. Fermentation is in a mix of barrel and tank.

Serve at 12 degrees with roast chicken, fish or a soft cheese. Drink over the next five years.
