Tar & Roses Tempranillo 2025

Tar & Roses Tempranillo is a Heathcote red made from Spain's most important black grape.

Tempranillo ripens early and keeps structure without high alcohol, which suits Heathcote's warm, dry summers and ancient red soils. It gives savoury red fruit and firm tannin, a food wine more than a fruit bomb. Tar & Roses was set up by Don Lewis and Narelle King to work with Mediterranean varieties in central Victoria.

Serve at 16 degrees with chorizo, lamb or a slow-cooked stew. Drink over the next six years.
