TarraWarra Estate Barbera 2023

TarraWarra Estate Barbera is a bright, fresh Yarra Valley red with red berry fruit and floral lift.

Italian grapes have become a quiet strength for the Besen family's estate, which sits between Yarra Glen and Healesville in the Yarra Valley. Barbera's naturally high acidity and soft tannins make it a good fit for the valley's cool climate, keeping the wine lively and food-friendly. The 2023 is a dark ruby colour with raspberry and blackberry aromas, backed by rose, violet and a red-cherry brightness. The palate brings red berries, plum and cranberry, framed by balanced acidity, and finishes round, fresh and resonant.

Chill very slightly, to about 15 degrees, and enjoy with mushroom pizza, pork and fennel sausages or a tomato-based pasta.
