TarraWarra Estate Reserve Chardonnay 2021

TarraWarra Estate Reserve Chardonnay is the estate's purest expression of Yarra Valley Chardonnay, made with minimal intervention.

The Reserve wines sit at the top of TarraWarra's range, and this Chardonnay is made with a deliberately hands-off approach. Whole bunches are pressed and the juice is racked straight to barrel, where it ferments without added yeast or acid. Each parcel is kept separate through its 10 months in oak and only blended just before stabilisation and bottling. Oak stays in the background, letting pear, lemon citrus, grilled hazelnut, oyster shell and a hint of sea spray show through. It strikes a fine balance between fruit generosity, crispness and acidity.

Serve at 10 to 12 degrees in a larger glass. It's a fine match for lobster, pork belly or roast chicken, and will continue to develop over the next several years.
