TarraWarra Estate Reserve Pinot Noir 2021

TarraWarra Estate Reserve Pinot Noir is a silky, finely detailed Yarra Valley Pinot of real finesse.

Drawing on the best batches from the Besen family's Yarra Valley vineyards, the Reserve Pinot Noir is where TarraWarra aims to show the truest form of the grape and its site. Each batch is kept separate in barrel and then blended to style. The 2021 brings poached strawberry, dried flowers and a touch of amaro on the nose, followed by dark cherry, aniseed, game and woodsmoke on the palate. Soft tannins and a silk-like texture flow into a long finish. It's more layered and savoury than the Estate Pinot, made for those who enjoy complex Pinot with a few years under its belt.

Serve at 15 to 16 degrees. Roast duck, venison or a mushroom and thyme tart would be ideal. It's drinking well now, with several good years ahead.
