TarraWarra Estate Roussanne Marsanne Viognier 2019

TarraWarra Estate Roussanne Marsanne Viognier is a savoury, textural Yarra Valley white blend of three Rhône varieties.

These three Rhône Valley grapes have a long heritage in the Yarra Valley, and TarraWarra grows just two rows of each on its estate. The small plantings consistently give beautiful fruit, and blending them builds a wine greater than its parts, with Viognier bringing perfume, Marsanne texture and Roussanne fine acidity and length. The 2019 has honeysuckle and white-flower aromatics, a savoury palate and good length, and it has had a few years in bottle to settle. It's a small-volume wine and a point of difference in a range better known for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Serve lightly chilled, at 10 to 12 degrees. It works with a wide range of food, from roast pork and chicken to Moroccan tagines and richer fish dishes.
