Te Mata Coleraine Cabernet Merlot Wooden Boxed 1.5L MAGNUM 2023

Te Mata Coleraine is the flagship Cabernet and Merlot blend of New Zealand's oldest winery, from Havelock North in Hawke's Bay.

Hawke's Bay on the east coast of the North Island is the country's warmest significant wine region, and the gravel and limestone slopes around Havelock North ripen Bordeaux varieties in a way little of New Zealand can match. Te Mata's vineyards were first planted in 1892 and the estate has operated continuously since, with Coleraine first made in 1982 from the oldest blocks on the Coleraine and Awatea vineyards. Cabernet Sauvignon leads, with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, matured in French oak barriques.

Decant and serve at 17 degrees with roast beef, lamb or game birds. It is among the longest-lived reds in the country, rewarding fifteen years or more.
