Te Mata Elston Chardonnay 2024

Te Mata Elston is the estate's flagship Chardonnay, made since 1984 from Hawke's Bay vineyards.

Hawke's Bay's warmth and long autumns give Chardonnay ripeness and weight, and the estate's limestone and gravel sites around Havelock North hold the acidity that keeps it in balance. Elston takes its name from the Elston family who were among the region's early landholders. The wine is whole-bunch pressed, fermented with wild yeast in French oak and matured on lees.

Serve at 12 degrees with roast chicken, pork or a rich fish dish. It rewards eight to ten years.
