Tenuta Luce Lucente 2023

Tenuta Luce Lucente is the second wine of Tenuta Luce, a Merlot and Sangiovese blend from Montalcino made for earlier drinking.

First made in the mid-1990s, it comes from the same hillside property in the south-west of the Montalcino district as its senior sibling and is put together by the same winemaking team. Merlot brings roundness and dark fruit, while Sangiovese contributes structure and freshness. The grapes are hand picked, fermented in temperature-controlled tanks and matured for around a year in oak barriques, which leaves the wine supple and open when released. It carries the Toscana IGT designation and offers an accessible introduction to the house style.

Ready to enjoy without long cellaring, it is a good match for pasta with meat sauce, grilled sausages, roast chicken, pizza or a cheese board. Serve at around 16 to 18 degrees. Drink over the next six to eight years.
