Tenute del Cerro Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG is a pure Sangiovese from Montalcino in southern Tuscany, made only in the best years.

Montalcino is a hill town south of Siena where Sangiovese, known locally as Brunello, is grown on its own and aged for longer than almost any other Italian red. Tenute del Cerro makes its Brunello at La Poderina, its estate near Castelnuovo dell'Abate in the warmer south east of the appellation, close to the abbey of Sant'Antimo. A Riserva must be aged for a further year, and cannot be released until the sixth year after the harvest.

A powerful, long-lived red for bistecca alla fiorentina, game, braised meats and aged pecorino. Decant and serve at around 18 degrees.
