Description
Terroir al Límit Priorat Dits del Terra is a vi de coster, Priorat's equivalent of a premier cru, made entirely from Carignan vines of more than eighty years.
Priorat's llicorella, a crumbling black schist that forces roots deep in search of water, is the reason its wines carry such concentration on very low yields. Dits del Terra was one of the first vineyards Dominik Huber acquired when he began making wine here with Eben Sadie, and it can be read as the south-facing sibling of Arbossar: the warmer exposure brings more flesh and power while the altitude keeps the acidity intact. The fruit comes from three schist-rich sites and the viticulture is biodynamic, with organic certification under way. Huber and Eduard Peceric handle the juice as gently as possible, pouring it over the whole bunches with a jug rather than pumping. This bottling was aged partly in a 3,500-litre Stockinger cask; from later vintages the wine is vinified entirely in concrete.
It is approachable but built for a decade or more in the cellar; serve at 16-18°C with roast kid, grilled lamb cutlets or mushroom dishes.
