Terroir al Límit Priorat Terra de Cuques Blanc 2022

Terroir al Límit Terra de Cuques Blanc is a high-altitude Priorat white of Grenache Blanc and Pedro Ximénez.

This is the estate's Vi de Terra Viva, the village tier of the range. From 2022 the blend is sixty per cent Grenache Blanc and forty per cent Pedro Ximénez, taken from vines of twenty-five years and more on slate and clay at La Morera del Montsant. The vineyards face north-east at 400 to 600 metres, an aspect that shelters the fruit from the harshest sun while the altitude brings cool nights and holds acidity; the bush-vine training adds to that coolness. As with all the whites here the style is moving towards precision and focus, and the higher proportion of Grenache Blanc contributes to that. The grapes are picked by hand, fermented as whole bunches for five days in stainless steel and cement, then aged for six months in cement. The wine has mouth-coating texture set against a firm mineral grip.

Drink over the next five to eight years with grilled fish, roast pork or a vegetable tart. Serve at 10-12°C.
