The London Distillery Company Rye Whiskey LV-1767 Edition is a limited-release rye whisky distilled in London.

Distilling returned to the capital in 2011 when this Battersea operation started up, the first to make whisky in London in more than a century, working alongside its Dodd's gin. Rye was the grain it chose for the whisky, unusual in a British context, and production ran in very small batches, which is why bottles appear in numbered editions like this one. Rye brings a firmer, spicier grain character than barley gives, and at this scale the spirit keeps a distinctly handmade quality. Bottlings from this address are scarce.

Rye shows as pepper, rye bread crust, mint and dried orange, with a dry, spicy finish. Drink it neat or over one big cube with a little water. It also builds a very good Manhattan or old fashioned.
