Description

The Pawn Montepulciano is made from Abruzzo's own red variety, grown in the Adelaide Hills.

Montepulciano the grape has nothing to do with the Tuscan town of the same name; it comes from the Adriatic side of central Italy and gives deeply coloured reds with soft tannins. Australian growers have planted it for its reliability in warm seasons and its generous colour. The Hills' altitude keeps the acidity in place.

Serve at 16 degrees with pizza, grilled meats or a tomato-based pasta. Drink over the next six years.
