Description

The Pawn Sangiovese is a Tuscan variety grown in the Adelaide Hills.

Sangiovese gives sour cherry fruit, firm acidity and a savoury finish, which makes it a food wine first; it needs a long season to ripen its tannins properly, and the Hills' altitude provides that. Maturation is in seasoned oak rather than new barrels, which suits the variety's transparency.

Serve at 16 degrees with pasta, grilled meats or pizza. Drink over the next six years.
