Théo Dancer Vin de France Aragón Grenache 2024

Théo Dancer Vin de France Aragón Grenache is a whole-bunch southern Rhône Grenache from an organically farmed vineyard near Cairanne.

Théo Dancer set up his micro-négoce to buy tiny quantities of fruit from four vineyards across France, both to work with growers he admires and to explore varieties he does not have at the family domaine. Grenache is a particular enthusiasm, shared with his father. The vineyard sits at Sainte-Cécile-les-Vignes, between Orange and Montélimar and close to Cairanne, a shaded site with a view towards Mont Ventoux and soils strewn with the smooth galets roulés found across much of the southern Rhône. It has been managed organically for years, which was central to Dancer's interest. He ferments with whole bunches and handles the wine through a Burgundian lens, which gives a lighter, more aromatic reading of a variety usually made in a much broader style.

Drink over the next five to eight years with grilled lamb, ratatouille or a herbed roast chicken. Serve at 16-18°C.
