Thibaud Boudignon Savennières Clos de la Hutte 1.5L MAGNUM 2022

Thibaud Boudignon Savennières Clos de la Hutte is a dry single parcel Chenin Blanc from the schist slopes of Savennières, in magnum.

Savennieres is a small appellation on the right bank of the Loire west of Angers, where Chenin Blanc grows on steep, poor slopes of schist, sandstone and volcanic debris in a notably dry and sheltered mesoclimate. Clos de la Hutte is one of the walled parcels Thibaud Boudignon farms there, worked by hand at low yields and picked in successive passes as the fruit ripens. The wine is pressed slowly, fermented with indigenous yeast in barrel and raised on its fine lees for a long elevage, then bottled dry with minimal sulphur. Savennieres of this kind is dense and tightly wound in youth and generally needs several years to open.

Powerful, dry and slow to unfold, it suits lobster, roast veal, poultry in cream and mature comte; serve at 12 degrees and decant if opening early.
