Thomas Wines Two Of A Kind Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is a dry white blending two regions and two grapes.

The split shifts each year with the season, and in 2024 it landed at 56 per cent Semillon and 44 per cent Sauvignon Blanc. The Semillon is early-picked Braemore fruit from the Hunter; the Sauvignon Blanc comes up from the Adelaide Hills, pressed at Kaesler and transported cold so it arrived in good shape. Blending happened almost immediately, a short spell on lees added texture, and bottling followed quickly to keep the wine as bright as possible. The multi-regional blend is an old Australian idea that fell out of fashion, and Andrew Thomas has been making a persuasive case for its return.

Bell-clear citrus and light tropical fruit, lively texture, then a thirst-quenching close. Serve it at 8 degrees on a hot day. Fish tacos, chicken skewers or a simple avocado and tomato salad are all it needs beside it.
