Tiefenbrunner Merus Chardonnay DOC 2020

Tiefenbrunner Merus Chardonnay DOC is a fresh, well-structured Alpine white from Italy's Alto Adige.

Tiefenbrunner is a family estate based at Castel Turmhof in the village of Entiklar, near Kurtatsch in the south of Alto Adige, where the family has made wine for generations. The region lies in the foothills of the Dolomites, and its warm days and cool mountain nights suit fresh, aromatic whites. Merus is one of the estate's varietal ranges, designed to show clean fruit and a sense of place. This Chardonnay is pale yellow with green glints, with meadow flower and exotic fruit aromas, a slightly tangy edge and good structure through to a long finish.

Serve chilled, at around 8 to 10 degrees. It works well with veal scaloppine, prosciutto and melon, seafood risotto or a mild washed-rind cheese. With a few years in bottle, it is ready to drink now.
