Tim Smith Reserve Mataro 2015

Tim Smith Reserve Mataro is Tim Smith's top Mataro, a savoury, structured Barossa Mourvèdre released with some bottle age.

Only the best Mataro makes it into this selection, and the 2015 has now spent more than ten years in bottle. Tim is one of the variety's keenest supporters in the valley, where it has grown since settlement, and he sources the fruit from Barossa growers.

Mature now, with earthy dark fruit, leather and softening tannins. Decant it gently and serve at 16–18°C with slow-braised lamb, game or hard, aged cheeses.
