Description
Tim Smith Viognier is a perfumed, textural white made in the Barossa from a grape at home in the northern Rhône.
The variety's homeland is Condrieu, a small appellation on granite soils on the Rhône's right bank, where it ripens to something rich and floral. Heat suits the grape, which is part of why it has settled so well in the Barossa, where it is made with freshness in mind while keeping the aromatics and silky weight this white is known for. This is the earlier of the two vintages in stock, so it has had a little more time in bottle.
Apricot and white flowers lead, then a rounded, mouth-filling palate. Pour it at 9–11°C with Moroccan chicken, pork, a gentle curry or soft cheese, and drink it while it is young.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
