Torres Sangre de Toro 2023

Torres Sangre de Toro is a warm, spicy Spanish red, instantly recognised by the little toy bull tied to the bottle.

The Torres family created Sangre de Toro in the mid-twentieth century and it has since become one of Spain's best-travelled wines. It is a blend of Garnacha and Cariñena from Catalonia, the family's home region, where both varieties have been grown for centuries in warm Mediterranean conditions. Garnacha gives juicy red fruit and generosity, and Cariñena adds structure and fresh acidity. In the glass it is dark cherry in colour, with strawberry and red fruit aromas, a peppery lift and a warm, firm palate with fine acidity.

Serve at around 15 to 17 degrees. It is great value for barbecues, pizza night, grilled sausages or a paella with chicken and chorizo.
