Trimbach Riesling Hommage à Hubert Trimbach 2023

Trimbach Riesling Hommage à Hubert Trimbach is a dry Alsace Riesling made in tribute to the family member who carried the house to export markets for more than half a century.

Hubert Trimbach spent decades as the travelling face of the Ribeauvillé house, and this cuvée sits above the classic Riesling in the range, assembled from selected parcels on the marl, limestone and sandstone slopes the family has worked since 1626. The winemaking is deliberately transparent: whole-bunch pressing, a slow, cool fermentation in stainless steel, no malolactic fermentation and no oak, followed by a period on fine lees and a longer rest in bottle before release than the entry wine receives. With 2.8 grams per litre of residual sugar the wine is bone dry, and it is built for the long, austere ageing curve the house is known for.

Dry, structured and mineral, it suits langoustine, pike-perch and creamy cheeses; serve at 10 to 12 degrees.
