Trimbach Riesling Réserve 375ml 2023

Trimbach Riesling Réserve is a bone dry Alsace Riesling from a house whose name is effectively shorthand for the dry style of the region.

The Trimbach family has made wine at Ribeauvillé since 1626 and has passed the business through thirteen generations, holding vineyards on the limestone and marl slopes around the town as well as buying from long standing growers. Réserve sits a step above the classic bottling, selected from riper parcels and given a little more time before release. The house method is deliberately reductive and unshowy: whole bunch pressing, slow fermentation in neutral tank, no malolactic conversion and no new oak, with the wine taken to complete dryness. This half bottle is sealed under a Diam closure, chosen for its consistency and low risk of cork taint.

Dry, firm and citrus driven in structure, it is a natural match for shellfish, cured salmon, pork and Alsace charcuterie; serve at ten to twelve degrees.
