Tua Rita Giusto di Notri 2023

Tua Rita Giusto di Notri is a Bordeaux blend from the Tuscan coast, made by the Suvereto estate that built its name on Merlot.

Tua Rita was founded in 1984 by Rita Tua and Virgilio Bisti at Notri, near Suvereto on the Tuscan coast, when the Maremma was still farming country rather than fine wine country. Their success, with that of neighbouring Bolgheri, helped make Suvereto and the Val di Cornia one of Italy's most sought after corners. Giusto di Notri takes its name from the hill on which the vineyards sit and is built from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the classic Left Bank trio, grown on gravel and clay soils close enough to the sea to feel its influence. The wine is matured in French oak barriques. It is the estate's Bordeaux styled counterpart to the single variety Merlot of Redigaffi.

Decant an hour ahead and serve at about 18 degrees with roast lamb, beef or game; it will cellar comfortably for a decade or more.
