Tyrrell's Estate Grown Shiraz 2023

Tyrrell's Estate Grown Shiraz is a Hunter Valley red from the family's own vineyards at Pokolbin.

Hunter Shiraz is its own thing: medium-bodied, earthy and savoury, quite unlike the Barossa, and the region's humidity and early harvest are the reason. Tyrrell's has worked these vineyards since 1858, and some of the vines are among the oldest in the valley. Fermentation is in open vats and maturation in large old oak casks, the traditional Hunter approach, which keeps the wood out of the way.

Serve at 16 degrees with roast lamb, beef or hard cheese. It develops over a decade.
