Valdespino La Guita Manzanilla 375ml NV

Valdespino La Guita Manzanilla 375ml is a delicate, bone-dry Manzanilla sherry from Sanlúcar de Barrameda.

Manzanilla can only be made in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, the seaside town at the mouth of the Guadalquivir River in Andalucía, where damp Atlantic breezes help a thick layer of flor yeast grow on the wine as it ages. The flor protects the wine from oxygen and gives the salty, tangy character that sets Manzanilla apart. La Guita is made from Palomino Fino, aged in a traditional solera, and is one of Spain's best-known Manzanillas, from the same family-owned sherry group as Valdespino. It is bright yellow with green tints, very mineral and delicate, with zesty citrus notes and a long saline finish.

Serve well chilled, straight from the fridge, and keep the bottle there once opened, finishing it within a week or so. It is made for tapas: jamón, salted almonds, olives, fried calamari, prawns and anchovies all work beautifully.
