Valli Vineyards Bannockburn Vineyard Pinot Noir 375ml is a half bottle of Valli's layered, dark-fruited Bannockburn Pinot.

Valli's range is built around single vineyards, each showing a different side of Otago Pinot Noir, a project begun by Grant Taylor and continued today with Jen Parr. Bannockburn is one of the warmest and driest parts of Central Otago, a sheltered area near Cromwell where old gold-mining sluicings still mark the landscape. That warmth gives darker fruit and fuller flesh. Blackberry, blueberry and dark cherry meet wild thyme, lily and jasmine, with a luxuriously fruited palate, dried herb spice, fine yet generous tannins and a tangy finish.

The half bottle is ideal for sharing two glasses with dinner. Serve at 15 to 17 degrees alongside lamb rump or a beetroot and goat's cheese tart. Smaller bottles tend to mature a little faster, but this will still keep for many years.
