Valli Vineyards Bendigo Pinot Noir 375ml offers Valli's deep, spicy Bendigo Pinot in a convenient half bottle.

Bendigo sits on the eastern side of Lake Dunstan, north of Cromwell, and is among the warmest subregions of Central Otago, though the fruit for this wine is grown at elevation, which brings a tangy freshness. The Valli label was founded by Grant Taylor, a pioneer of the region's Pinot Noir, and is now shared with winemaker Jen Parr. The 2023 is deep garnet, with blackberry, dark cherry, plum, lily, rosemary, birch and dark chocolate. The palate is tightly woven, with layers of dark fruit and spice, a fresh vein of acidity and warm, mouth-coating tannins.

Open at around 16 degrees and pair with braised beef cheeks, lamb shanks or a mushroom and thyme pie. Despite the small format, it has the structure to age for many years.
