Vasse Felix Cane Cut Semillon 375ml 2025

Vasse Felix Cane Cut Semillon is a sweet Margaret River white, made from grapes left to dry and concentrate on the vine.

Cane cutting is a technique well suited to the region's dry, sunny autumns. Once the Semillon is ripe, the fruiting canes are snipped, cutting off the vine's supply of water, and the bunches then raisin where they hang. The juice is rich and naturally concentrated, with acidity kept intact to balance the sugar. The winery sits in Wilyabrup, where the first Margaret River vines were planted, and it treats this wine as a pure expression of the grape. This vintage leans to mango, papaya and orange zest, with creamy peach and a hint of salted caramel on a long, gently rounded finish.

Try it with crème brûlée, poached stone fruit or a soft washed-rind cheese, served straight from the fridge. The 375ml bottle suits a dinner for four, and it will also age gracefully for a few years.
