Vasse Felix Tom Cullity Cabernet Malbec 1.5L MAGNUM 2021

Vasse Felix Tom Cullity Cabernet Malbec in magnum is the estate's top red in a large format built for long cellaring.

The wine carries the name of Margaret River's founding father, who planted the region's first commercial vines at Wilyabrup in 1967. Only the best Cabernet Sauvignon parcels make the cut, with Malbec bringing lift and a plush texture to the blend. The magnum format slows the wine's development, which makes it well suited to a special occasion many years from now. In 2021 it shows boysenberry and blue plum with floral and botanical notes, a soft, plump entry and a velvety, almost nutty texture, with fine tannins carrying a long, cedary finish.

Stand the bottle upright the day before, decant gently and serve at 16 to 18 degrees. A whole roast beef fillet, a leg of lamb or a generous cheese board will do it justice.
