Description

Verget Mâcon Grand Élevage Blanc is a Chardonnay from the Mâconnais given a longer than usual élevage.

Verget was founded in 1990 at Sologny by the Belgian winemaker Jean-Marie Guffens, who buys fruit rather than land and presses it himself at the domaine. The Mâconnais is the southern end of Burgundy, warmer than the Côte d'Or and planted almost entirely to Chardonnay, and Grand Élevage is the cuvée held longest before bottling.

Serve at 11 degrees with roast chicken, grilled fish, a quiche or a soft cheese.
