Description

Vietti Barolo Lazzarito is a Serralunga d'Alba cru, from the eastern side of the zone where Barolo takes its firmest shape.

Serralunga's Helvetian soils are older, sandier and poorer in clay than those of La Morra, which yields wines of greater tannic structure and a longer life. Lazzarito occupies a steep south-west-facing slope above the village. Vietti works the site by hand, ferments with native yeast and matures the wine in large oak casks, giving it the years in cellar that Serralunga demands.

Decant several hours ahead and serve at 17 degrees with roast beef, game or truffled pasta. It is built for twenty-five years.
