Vietti Barolo Monvigliero 2020

Vietti Barolo Monvigliero comes from the most celebrated vineyard of Verduno, at the northern edge of the Barolo zone.

Monvigliero faces due south on a steep slope of pale calcareous marl, and Verduno's position at the cool northern end of the appellation gives wines that are floral and fine-boned rather than heavy. The site has historically been vinified with long macerations and whole bunches. Vietti ferments with native yeast and ages the wine in large oak, keeping the vineyard's perfume to the front.

Decant and serve at 17 degrees with roast poultry, veal or mushroom dishes. It will develop over twenty years.
