Vietti Barolo Rocche 2020

Vietti Barolo Rocche di Castiglione is a single-vineyard Nebbiolo from the cru beside the estate's own cellars.

Rocche di Castiglione runs along a steep ridge in Castiglione Falletto, where a narrow band of sandy soil over a rocky drop produces wines with a firm mineral core and long, fine tannins. Vietti has bottled it since the 1960s, when Alfredo Currado began isolating individual sites, an idea then unusual in Barolo. Fermentation is with native yeast and ageing takes place in large oak casks.

Decant well ahead and serve at 17 degrees with braised beef, game or Castelmagno. It rewards twenty years or more.
