Voyager Estate Coastal Cabernet Sauvignon 2025

Voyager Estate Coastal Cabernet Sauvignon is a fruit-driven Cabernet from the estate's coastal vineyards in Margaret River.

Gravel over stony clay, rolling ground, and enough ocean air to keep the afternoons honest: the Stevens Valley blocks give balanced fruit at modest yields. The 2025 growing season was warm and dry, and phenolic ripeness took until April to arrive. Rain late in the piece did little damage, and picking happened in fine condition. Whole berries, destemmed but left uncrushed, fermented across open, static and concrete vessels at cooler temperatures, hand-plunged twice daily to keep extraction gentle. The wine finished its raising split between French oak, 30 per cent of the volume, and stainless steel tanks.

Redcurrant and dark cherry come first, then bay leaf and a fine gravelly grip. Serve at 16-18 degrees, and open it an hour ahead. Lamb skewers, slow-cooked beef cheek or a plate of charcuterie will all suit.
